How to cite multiple authors chicago style?
Q. I need to cite a book called Ultimate Biography. It doesn't have a specific author, but rather the different editors, directors, and contributors. I figure I should attribute the book to the contributors, but there are seven of them. Is there a way to do this? Should I just use the publisher? And I need to do this in Chicago format. Thanks!

A. The simplest way is to find the book on WorldCat.org - when you find it, there's a link at the top of the page to make a citation. Just choose Chicago from the drop-down list of options, and voila...worldcat gives you the citation. I just checked and found a few 'Ultimate Biography''s - the first one was subtitled "inside the lives of the world's 250 most influential people" - if that's the right one, here's the link to it's record:

Recommend some good books for a summer school reading assignment (From a list of specific authors ONLY!)?
Q. I'm going to be in Honors English next year as a Freshman. We have two summer assignments. One we have to read Lord of the Flies. The other we get to choose or book, but it MUST be from the following list of authors. The only two authors Ive heard of are Sarah Dessen & Charles Dickens, neither of which would be my first choice...so if you know of any books by these authors that won't bore me to tears, please suggest them! A. Douglas Adams--if you're looking for easy, fun reading, this is one of the best options on the list. He is the author of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and the other 4 or so books in the trilogy. They are quirky/bizarre science fiction with a really strange, random sense of humor. Not deep plots or characters, but some surprising twists. They won't please everyone, but I found them hilarious. Gary Blackwood--he is the author of some interesting historical fiction. His most well-known books are Shakespeare Stealer, Shakespeare's Scribe, and Shakespeare's Spy--about a boy who ends up working in Shakespeare's theater. I enjoyed them. A. The Waste Land (1922) is a revolutionary, highly influential 434-line modernist poem by T. S. Eliot. Despite the alleged obscurity of the poem its shifts between satire and prophecy, its abrupt and unannounced changes of speaker, location and time, its elegiac but intimidating summoning up of a vast and dissonant range of cultures and literatures the poem has nonetheless become a familiar touchstone of modern literature. Among its famous phrases are "April is the cruellest month" (its first line); "I will show you fear in a handful of dust"; and the Sanskrit "Shantih shantih shantih" (its last line).
