Adeline Virginia Woolf (pronounced /ˈwʊlf/; 25 January 1882 – 28 March 1941) was an English novelist, essayist, diarist, epistler, publisher, feminist, and writer of short stories, regarded as one of the foremost modernist literary figures of the twentieth century.

During the interwar period, Woolf was a significant figure in London literary society and a member of the Bloomsbury Group. Her most famous works include the novels Mrs Dalloway (1925), To the Lighthouse (1927) and Orlando (1928), and the book-length essay A Room of One's Own (1929), with its famous dictum, "A woman must have money and a room of her own if she is to write fiction."

What are some of the most easily-read essays by Virginia Woolf?
Q. I have a history of being incapable of reading things that are wholly uninteresting--so can anybody list some of Woolf's shortest and most interesting essays? :)

A. I'd like to recommend the following: 1. 'The Common Reader' in The Common Reader (1925) 2. 'How Should One Read a Book?' in the Common Reader: Second Series (1932) They are readable and understandable, some inspiring parts have been occasionally quoted in literary articles or journals. However, there are many more you can have a look and read any one you like. There are also 2 paperbacks published by Penguin Books, I'm sorry I don't have them nearby, I'd tell you later. They have all interesting essays edited by a lady.
